In the case of rings and bands, after they are bent to size they are soldered together at both ends. To do this the raven transformed himself into a human chief's child and lay on the beach close to the beaver's lodge. After day's of lying on the beach and crying, the beaver opened their hearts and saved the child. They brought the child into their lodge and took care of him. After many years the raven at last found out the secret of where the beaver kept the salmon. He then transformed himself back into the raven and rolled up the huge hidden lake where all the salmon were kept, stole it and flew back to Haida Gwaii.
