Bruce Alfred

Bruce Alfred, a Kwakwaka'wakw artist of the Namgis Band, was born in 1950 in Alert Bay, B.C. Canada. He was mentored by renowned artist Doug Cranmer and has been inspired by Beau Dick, Wayne Alfred, Tony Hunt, Richard Hunt and William Wasden.

Bruce has contributed to many projects throughout his career, including the restoration of the Wak'as totem Pole and house in Ottawa headed by Doug Cranmer. Bruce specializes in steam-bent boxes and chests that are elaborately designed, carved and painted.
