This Chief of the Undersea World or Komokwa Mask is painted in a Bella-Bella style and carved from red cedar, by Dwayne Simeon from the Kwakwaka´wakw or Kwakiutl Nation. The mask features horse hair on the sides as well as two pieces of round copper.  In Kwakiutl or Kwakwaka'wakw Mythology Komokwa is the very powerful chief of the Supernatural Undersea People. The price includes shipping to the USA and Canada.

This mask was carved, signed and dated in 1994  and has a couple of marks, a small repair and a few cracks on the bottom of the mask which you can all see on the images. The mask is a little over 13 inches long without the horse hair, a little under 9 inches wide and about 8 inches deep. The top of the mask is a little over 17 inches wide and 11 inches deep.
