This Orca with Raven Fin Rattle was hand-carved by Haida artist Harold Yeltatzie in 2002. This rattle had been ornately carved from yellow cedar and features horsehair for the hair.
The rattle represents the Haida Story where Nanasimgit saves his wife from the Undersea World, to which a Killer Whale had kidnapped and taken her.
Without the stand the rattle measures 11 1/2 inches or 29 1/4 centimeters high, 2 1/4 inches or 5 3/4 centimeters wide, and 2 1/4 inches or 5 3/4 centimeters deep. Including the stand, the piece measures 13 inches or 33 centimeters high, 2 1/4 inches or 5 3/4 centimeters wide, and 4 1/2 inches or 11 1/2 centimeters deep.
Note: the stand was not carved by Harold, but created by an artist for display. The stand is included in the price of the rattle.
The price includes shipping to the USA and Canada.
