Kwakiutl Sun Mask carved and painted by Vern Etzerza, Northwest Coast Native Artist from the Tahltan Nation. The mask is carved in alder and red cedar, and is painted in red, yellow, black, and white acrylic paint, and also features horsehair. This mask is one of Vern's earlier pieces and dates from the late 1980s. The artist has signed, named, and dated the mask in original.
