“Claiming space in people’s imagination.” Haida master carver Jim Hart, Chief Eidansuu, has created a crest pole commemorating the lives of children sent to residential schools and the reconciliation that can be achieved when communities come together.

Shipped from Old Massett to the Museum of Anthropolgy on the UBC campus last fall, the 67 foot, 600-year-old cedar pole will be finished on site by Chief Hart and 4 other artists, then raised near the Beaty Biodiversity Museum in the spring of 2017.
