This is a sand-blasted and painted yellow cedar Eagle Paddle by Trevor Hunt from the Kwakwaka'wakw NationTrevor has applied his sandblasted technique to this paddle and the result is a complex and deeply grooved contemporary design.

The Eagle Symbol is known as “The master of skies” and is a symbol of great significance. He is believed to be the creature with the closest relationship with the creator. Soaring to great heights, he can travel between the physical and the spiritual world. He is said to be a messenger to the creator.

The paddle is about 62 1/2 inches or 158 3/4 centimeters long, about 5 3/4 inches or 14 1/2 centimeters wide, and about 1 inch or 2 1/4 centimeters thick.
