This Red-headed Woodpecker Rattle is carved and signed by Kwakwaka'wakw artist Greg Henderson from the Wei Wai Kum First Nation in Campbell River. The rattle has been carved from yellow cedar and painted in black, red and dark grey acrylic. The rattle comes with a driftwood stand supported by a yellow cedar base that has been painted in black acrylic. In addition, the interior of the rattle contains pebbles from Campbell River's world-famous Tyee Spit.
The rattle measures approximately 11 3/4 inches or 30 centimeters long, 2 1/2 inches or 6 1/2 centimeters wide, and 4 1/4 inches or 11 centimeters deep.
The rattle and stand together measure approximately 15 inches or 38 centimeters wide, 9 3/4 inches or 24 3/4 centimeters deep, and 14 inches or 35 1/2 centimeters high.
