Originally from the Kwakwaka'wakw Nation, James is part of the Kwak'wala-speaking people. He is 'Namgis from Yalis (Alert Bay, BC) and Tsawataineuk from Gwayii (Kingcome Inlet, BC), and proudly incorporates his cultural heritage into every piece he creates.
