Courtney Powell

Courtney Powell is a local carver who has lived in the coastal forests of British Columbia, Canada all his life. He has been collecting beautiful and rare burls and other pieces of amazing local wood from young trees as well as old growth giants 1000 years of age and older for a long time.

While carving a mask, Courtney follows solely his intuition. He never knows at the beginning what kind of expression the carving will have and is always amazed when he sees the finished mask. He does not have any Native American heritage.
