Phil Ashbee
Phil Ashbee (born 1954) is an accomplished carver and sculptor based in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Originally born in Ontario, he has spent decades on the Pacific Northwest coast, mastering and interpreting Northwest Coast indigenous carving traditions.
He is highly regarded not only for his massive public art installations but also for his role as a mentor to the next generation of carvers.
