Tony Hunt Jr. was born in the year 1961 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. He is a contemporary Kwagiulth carver and a member of the Hunt Family of Fort Rupert. The Hunt Family represent a long lineage of master carvers such as his great grandfather Mungo Martin, his grandfather Henry Hunt, his father Tony Hunt Sr. and his uncles Richard Hunt and Stan Hunt. Following this family tradition Tony began carving at an early age was inspired and trained by his elders. He is a talented traditional dancer and takes an active part in many ceremonies. His work has been exhibited in many national and international museums and is held and sought-after by collectors all over the world.
