This Raven Steals the Moon Silver and Gold Bracelet is carved in sterling silver and 14 karat gold by Rick Johnson, Ḵwikwa̱sut̕inux Native Artist. The Bracelet is an interpretation of the story of how Raven stole the light back from an old chief that was hiding it and gave it back to the universe. The design depicts two Ravens and the Moon in 14 karat gold, representing the light of the universe (the Sun, Moon and Stars).
Mischievous and curious, the Raven plays many important roles in Pacific Northwest Coast Culture. For some, he symbolizes creation, transformation, knowledge, prestige as well as the complexity of nature and the subtlety of truth. He also symbolizes the unknown and shows that every person sees the world in a different way.
