This Sea Serpent or Sisiutl Mask is carved from red cedar and painted by Oscar (Ozzie) Matilpi from the Kwakwaka´wakw or Kwakiutl Nation. Two carved and painted horned sea serpents touch tongues and flank the central face of this supernatural serpent. The mask is about 16 ½ inches or 42 cm high, about 13 inches or 33 cm wide between the horns and about 7 1/2 inches or 19 cm deep. 

This mask was carved prior to 1999. Due to its age, it has a little wear but overall it is in good condition. There are a couple of small nicks. The price is reflective of the condition.
