Large Thunderbird Mask


This large articulated Thunderbird Mask was carved by Vince Shaughnessy from the Kwakwaka´wakw or Kwakiutl Nation. The mask is carved from red cedar, it is partly painted with acrylic paint and the top and bottom of the mask is finished with cedar bark. The beak can be manipulated with a string from the bottom of the mask. This very large mask is a little over 40 inches long, 20 inches high without the stand and 14 1/2 inches wide at the horns.  The base of the stand is 40 inches long, 9 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches thick. The Thunderbird Mask including the stand is about 40 inches high. The price includes shipping to the USA and Canada.
