This Chief of the Undersea World or Komokwa Mask is hand-carved in red cedar by Master Carver Bill Henderson from the Kwakwaka´wakw Nation. The mask is painted in red, green, and black acrylic, and features cedar bark bundles on each side of the mask, 32 abalone inlays, and 8 abalone teeth. In Kwakwaka'wakw mythology, Komokwa is a wealth bringer and a powerful chief of the Supernatural Undersea People.

The mask is up to 13 1/2 inches or 34 centimeters wide, 15 1/2 inches or about 39 centimeters long, and is about 10 inches or about 25 centimeters deep. The last photograph shows Bill Henderson with his Komokwa Mask.
