This wonderful Woodpecker Rattle is carved and signed by Kwakwaka'wakw artist Greg Henderson from the Wei Wai Kum First Nation in Campbell River. This rattle features red, black, grey, and white acrylic and has been carved from two pieces of red cedar that have been joined in the middle. The rattle comes with an alder stand supported by a red cedar base that has been knife-finished and decorated with red ovoids. In addition, the interior of the rattle contains pebbles from Campbell River's world-famous Tyee Spit.
The rattle is about 9 1/2 inches or 24 cm long, 3 inches or 8 cm wide, and 3 inches or 8 cm thick. The stand is 10 inches or 25 cm long and almost 8 inches or 20 cm wide and 8 1/2 inches or 21 cm high.
