This large Cedar Harvest Mask is carved and painted by Native Artist Trevor Hunt from the Kwakwaka´wakw or Kwakiutl Nation. It has been carved from red cedar, painted in beige, grey, black and orange acrylic, and features abalone and copper on the eyes, 5 inlays of mother of pearl, and approximately 11 feet of cedar bark rope for the hair.
The mask including the cedar bark measures approximately 33 inches or 84 centimeters high, 28 inches or 71 centimeters wide, and 15 inches or 38 centimeters deep. Excluding the cedar bark the mask measures approximately 14 inches or 36 centimeters high, 10 inches or 25 centimeters wide, and 9 inches or 23 centimeters deep.
